Each performance will be followed by a live-broadcast panel discussion, open to everyone. Topics will include Language and Storytelling, Early 20th Century Women's Issues, and Virtual Production. Guests can participate in any of these events, regardless of which day they see the show. Please see our event page for more detailed information on each of these talk-backs.

The ¹ú²úÂ×Àí Arts Administration program has launched a new talk series called "Arts Connections". Join The University of Akron School of Dance, Theatre, and Arts Administration guests and students for discussions about the many aspects of arts, culture, and community. On October 13, join The ¹ú²úÂ×Àí Connections Series for a session with cast members and the director of this semester’s virtual theatre production, The Waves. Discussion topics will include the nature of virtual rehearsals, the benefits of virtual performances, and of course, the show itself, among other topics!Cast & Crew

Director: Brian Schultis
Biography
Brian Schultis, PhD CLMA practices and researches performer training, embodied and performative relations to environments and materials, and embodied practice as a way of generating knowledge. He currently teaches theatre at The University of Akron and has also taught at The University of Kent UK, and Kent State University. He was associate director of Oberlin College Drama at Grafton Reintegration Center from 2018-2019. His doctoral research built theory around the work of Polish director Jerzy Grotowski in relation to practical research on performative meetings in relation to landscapes based on travel and transition. He certified as a Laban / Bartenieff Movement analyst in 2020. Brian was an apprentice from 2009-2012 with the Akron, Ohio based New World Performance Laboratory.
