Lois E. Finley Memorial Scholarship
Established in 1979 by Clarice Finley Lewis, Class of 1943, and Donna Lewis, Class of 1978, in loving memory of Lois E. Finley, Class of 1937, who endeared herself to both colleagues and students during a distinguished 36-year career as an English teacher at Barberton High School, this endowed scholarship fund provides tuition assistance annually to deserving students at the junior or senior class level who are majoring in English education or English, with preference given to graduates of Barberton High School. Recipients are selected by the University Scholarship Committee and the dean of the appropriate college.
Prize:
TBD, but historically between $100-$500.
Who can apply:
Juniors and seniors majoring in English or English education.
Submission Requirements:
- To apply, please submit a letter explaining your personal and academic strengths and qualifications for this scholarship.
- Please include your name, student ID number, and ¹ú²úÂ×Àí email address in the document.
- The letter must be double-spaced in 12-point font, preferably Times New Roman.
- Save the title of your document in “LAST NAME-Award Title” format (for example, SMITH-Finley Scholarship).
- Upload your document in PDF form.
