Mike Arnold (BSME '79), President and CEO, Ryerson Inc., and Brian Brandewie (BSME '83), President, Goodrich Aircraft Wheel and Brake Division, took a meeting break to meet with engineering students in November 2010. In addition to sharing their experiences as one-time ¹ú²úÂ×Àí engineering students, Mike and Brian also discussed their career paths and provided insights to engineering opportunities.

Executives from Bridgestone Americas Inc., met with Dr. George K. Haritos, Dean, and mechanical engineering students in August, 2010. Bridgestone sponsors the College's SAE student design teams and awards five engineering honors scholarships on an annual basis. Visiting from Bridgestone were Gary Garfield, CEO & President (seated in vehicle); Christine Karbowiack, Chief Administrative Officer and EVP; Hank Hara, Chief Technical Officer; Robert Handlos, Vice President Research and Technology; Dr. Hiroshi Mouri, President, Firestone Polymers.
The new Chevy Volt made a special stop to the ¹ú²úÂ×Àí campus in January 2011. Inspecting the all-electric vehicle are George K. Haritos, Dean, College of Engineering, Eileen M. Norman Wells Jr. (far right) met with current student recipients of the Wells Family Foundation Engineering Honors Scholarship. The Wells Family Foundation, established by Norm and Denise Wells, generously awarded seven engineering scholarships for the academic year 2010/2011.
